We are so absolutely thrilled!! Josh never expressed a preference either way, and while I would be just as amazed and happy with a little girl, I was hoping our first would be a boy. I am already teary eyed thinking about Josh teaching his little son how to build things, fix cars, and be a great man!
I am so happy to have it be me and my boys in our little family. It feels good to know for sure that it's a little boy, and not have to refer to our baby as "baby" or "he/she" anymore. We were putting off thinking of names until we knew the sex, since picking out a name for another human is insanely overwhelming. We've got a few good names we're thinking about for this little guy.
Dear Baby Boy:
You're a little dude! We found out today, and can't stop smiling about you. The look on your dad's face when we were told (though it was so very obvious on the screen!) that you are a little boy was a look I'll never forget. He is such a great, great man, and you will have the best role model to look up to! You'll learn how to fix my car, catch critters, and treat a lady right. Your dad is already planning a tree house for you guys to build- when you're a little bit older, of course. And I'll always be here to take good care of you, make you lots of snacks, and wash the grass stains off your clothes.
You're growing so fast, and we could see your little spine so clearly today. It is such a beautiful sight to see your tiny little body and face on that screen. I don't think you like to be bothered, because just like last month, when the midwife tried to listen to your heartbeat, you kicked her and moved away! Your moves are becoming extremely strong already. When I lay on my back, we can SEE my stomach moving when you kick! It's a very cute and weird feeling, but maybe you can relax a little bit at night? Thanks, little guy.
